Bio
Joseph Anderson is a distinguished leader with extensive global experience spanning military service, executive leadership, strategic advisory, and corporate governance. Following a remarkable 38-year career in the U.S. Army, where he commanded Infantry units from company to Corps level and served through multiple deployments, Joe transitioned into the private sector as President of J Anderson Consulting Group. In this role, he has advised more than 30 organizations, including McKinsey & Company, Renaissance Strategic Advisors, SOS International, Sayari, and A2 Global Electronics.
Joseph has also held numerous board and advisory positions across defense, technology, logistics, and investment sectors, serving organizations such as REV Group, Systematic, Sequoia, Wynnchurch Capital, and Saildrone. In 2024, he was elected President of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Joe also holds advanced degrees from Central Michigan University and the U.S. Naval War College. He completed executive education at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and has contributed as a visiting professor, mentor, and leadership advisor across academic and military institutions.
Deeply committed to service, Joe supports numerous veteran and nonprofit organizations, including the USO Mid-Atlantic Council and the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. His leadership and impact have earned widespread recognition, including the 2024 General Creighton W. Abrams Medal, the 2025 Washington 100 Award, and the 2026 CEO Clubs Network Burj Global Power 100 Award.
