Bio
Dr. Pramod KUMAR, Ph.D. (Laser Tech.) is a distinguished physicist, innovator, and global expert in Laser Technology, Quantum Photonics, and Photonic Intelligence Systems. He currently serves as Director of Research at QuantLase Research and Development Center (QRDC), UAE, where he leads advanced research focused on transforming fundamental physics into scalable technologies for healthcare, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and next-generation data infrastructure.
Dr. Kumar began his academic journey with an M.Sc. in Physics from C.C.S University, Meerut, followed by an M.Phil. in Instrumentation Physics from IIT Roorkee. He later earned his Ph.D. in Laser Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, specializing in tunable external cavity diode lasers and high-power laser stabilization systems.
Over the course of his career, he has contributed to pioneering research at globally recognized institutions including IIT Bombay, LNE-CNAM Paris, IISER Mohali, Tyndall National Institute Ireland, University College Cork, and the University of Exeter, UK. His work spans ultrafast photonics, optical coherence, nonlinear dynamics, interferometric imaging, and quantum-inspired optical computing.
Among his notable innovations is the development of Laser-based DPI technology for rapid COVID-19 screening. At QRDC, he is currently advancing Photonic Intelligence Processing Unit (PIPU) systems aimed at ultra-fast, energy-efficient AI processing and fault-tolerant quantum computing.
