Dr. Sanjay Agarwal is a distinguished infrastructure professional, civil engineer, entrepreneur, advisor, mentor, and strategic leader with more than 38 years of experience across the construction and infrastructure sector. His expertise spans highways, bridges, railways, commercial and residential buildings, mega projects, townships, EPC contracting, development, and infrastructure advisory.

A graduate of Manipal Institute of Technology, Dr. Agarwal’s interest in civil engineering was shaped early in life through his father, an Indian Railway Engineer, whose project sites exposed him to bridges, tunnels, railways, and large-scale construction. He began his professional career in 1986 as an Assistant Project Manager at IRCON, contributing to landmark projects including Asia’s largest Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala and major road and bridge developments in Jakarta. He later joined IJM Corporation in 1996, gaining extensive international and Indian experience across complex infrastructure projects.

In 2008, Dr. Agarwal founded Team Universal Infratech Pvt. Ltd. (TUIPL), which grew to complete projects exceeding ₹2,200 crore and was acquired by IJM Corporation in 2019. Across his career, he has been associated with the development of more than 5,000 lane kilometres of highways since 1999, including a record-setting achievement of laying 25.54 kilometres of road in 17 hours and 45 minutes on the Solapur-Vijayapura project.

Since April 2024, Dr. Agarwal has stepped away from executive responsibilities while continuing as a Director and Advisor, mentoring future leaders and sharing his expertise. Through SA Associates, founded in 2024, he now provides advisory, industry networking, mentoring, liaisoning, product promotion, investment, and crushing and mining-related services. He is also a Lifetime Registered Independent Director.
