Founder & CEO, Ideas-Shared Global Ltd
Bio
Bob Thompson is a British Army veteran, MCIPS-qualified procurement and transformation specialist, and Founder and CEO of Ideas-Shared Global Ltd. His professional journey spans more than 13 years of military service and over three decades of experience across procurement, technology, transformation, and organisational change. Throughout his career, Bob has led major programmes involving 11 European countries and £1.4 billion in expenditure, helped create a £172 million managed service for a major NHS teaching hospital, and designed advanced procurement and inventory solutions.
These experiences shaped Bob’s ability to bring people, resources, processes, and decisions together. However, the catalyst for Ideas-Shared came from an unexpected conversation outside a school with former Icelandic international footballer Ívar Ingimarsson. What began as an idea Ívar wanted to pursue, but did not know how to make happen, prompted Bob to explore a much broader question: how could people find the knowledge, capabilities, support, and structure needed to turn ambition into reality?
Rather than creating another corporate system, Bob spent the following ten years developing a solution accessible to individuals aged 16 and over, informal groups, and organisations, supporting personal, professional, and societal ambitions. This work evolved into Ideas-Shared, an ambition-led, polycentric participation network and Ambition Operating System, built around a philosophy, methodology, tools, and seven-step operating model.
At its core, Ideas-Shared is built on Intelligent Collaboration, enabling people to challenge assumptions, make others aware, stop what needs stopping, and co-create new realities through a common operating model. Bob’s ambition is to help establish a global Ambition Economy in which people everywhere can exercise their sovereign power, voluntarily combine with others, and improve the conditions that matter to them.
Personal Quote:
“Every person has sovereign power to decide what matters. When we combine that power intelligently with others, personal, professional, and societal ambition becomes collective capability. -
