Ajamu Kambon is an entrepreneur, music executive, investor, and author of Do You : Success, Wealth, and Relationships. As Founder & CEO of Deep Root Records, he has built one of the leading independent, 100% Black-owned music companies, spanning artist and label management, distribution, publishing, sync licensing, and global live events. His leadership has earned recognition from the Recording Academy, the Forbes Next 1000, and the Forbes Business Council.
Since beginning his artist management career in 2014 and launching Deep Root Records in 2015, Kambon has grown the company into a seven-figure enterprise while helping develop sustainable careers for artists worldwide. Under his leadership, Deep Root has released more than 400 masters, generating more than 725 million streams, and built one of the industry's strongest independent sync catalogs, securing placements with global brands including Netflix, Disney, Spotify, TikTok, Amazon, Google, Red Bull, EA Sports, Epic Games, the NBA, Dior, Vogue, and many others.
Beyond recorded music, Ajamu has expanded Deep Root's international live events business, producing showcases and experiences across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, in partnership with some of the world's most iconic venues and festivals. He is also a partner in the We Belong Here festival, which combines world-class music experiences with scholarship funding for aspiring music students.
Committed to giving back, Ajamu is a Recording Academy member, two-time GRAMMY U Mentor, MusiCares supporter, and creator of the #UnitedByMusic relief initiative, which united more than two million viewers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
