Bio
Gregory A. Mercurio Jr. is a distinguished serial healthcare entrepreneur known nationally for his unwavering commitment to improving access to a continuum of coordinated comprehensive care for cancer and other maladies that require the use of innovative capital intense technology. With three decades of experience introducing medical innovative technologies, Gregory developed relationships with manufacturers of medical technology, physicians, hospital systems and government leaders spearheading initiatives to expand access to high quality affordable healthcare, including underserved populations, through fixed sites and the mobilization of innovative technologies.
Gregory, a bona-fide expert in the medical device space, began his healthcare career in Orthopedics in 1993, forming numerous successful healthcare partnerships among physicians, healthcare facilities and high technology capital intense medical equipment companies, and patient treatment facilities.
In 2000, along with 32 urologists, he formed Bay Area Mobile Medical Lithotripsy.
Gregory has been the President of Biotechnology Integration and Management, LLC a healthcare consulting firm he founded in 2000. In that endeavor he served as Executive Business Development Consultant at 21st Century Oncology, for 17 years, once the largest radiology provider in the world. He has been awarded multiple Certificates of Need to establish radiation therapy centers in joint ventures with Rhode Island’s three major hospital systems.
In 2002, he envisioned and founded Rhode Island PET/CT Mobile Imaging Network and secured a Certificate of Need to establish a mobile PET/CT Network. Since that time, with his guidance, RIPET has provided cancer staging imaging services for over 20,000 Rhode Island patients.
In 2024 Gregory was honored to be invited by Iylon CEO John Tarantino and Founder Dr. Sunderai Mani to be the Chief Strategy Officer for Iylon, an International Precision Oncology Company. In December 2025 Iylon was honored by Forttuna as Oncology Innovation Company of the year. Currently, he is Executive Vice President of Radiation of Radiation Oncology for American Shared Hospital Services and Chief Executive Officer of Precision Radiation Oncology of Rhode Island.
