Dr. Thiwanka De Fonseka is Komar’s Chief Sustainability Officer, leading the company’s global sustainability strategy across environmental and product areas, public affairs, and science-based decarbonization initiatives. With more than 10 years of experience as a sustainability professional at organizations including Komar, The ZDHC Foundation, Marks & Spencer, and MAS Holdings, Dr. De Fonseka has driven sustainability transformations across global apparel supply chains. Dr. De Fonseka holds a Doctorate in Sustainable Business, three master's degrees, and two bachelor's degrees in environmental science, chemistry, business management, and project management. He serves on several industry advisory councils, including Cascale, ZDHC, Textile Exchange, and AAFA. He is internationally recognized for his leadership in climate action, sustainable sourcing, circularity, and supply chain sustainability.
