Bio
Shreya Patel is a multidisciplinary media leader whose work spans producing, writing, acting, filmmaking, and global advocacy. Recognized for using storytelling as a catalyst for social impact, she has been named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Media and one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Arts, Sports, and Entertainment. She has also been acknowledged as an Emerging Leader Under 35 and an Impact Female Entrepreneur to Watch.
As a founder and creative force, Shreya develops projects that challenge dominant narratives and amplify underrepresented voices. She produced the award-winning short film Unibrow, which achieved Oscar-qualifying and Canadian Screen Award–qualifying status. Her documentary directorial debut, Girl Up, addressing domestic human trafficking, partnered with the Toronto International Film Festival and the Civic Action Summit. Her production company also delivered Get Up, Aisha, a Canadian Screen Award–nominated project.
Her creative reach extends into music and digital media. Shreya’s music video directorial debut, Freedom Dance, featuring contributors from more than seven countries, surpassed 1.2 million views. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she brought together participants from sixty-six countries to create Unity – #LOVESPREADS Faster Than Virus, which closed the Munich Film Festival.
A graduate of the Second City Conservatory, she has performed in acclaimed independent films and theatre, with Strangers in a Room earning the Audience Choice Award at the Reelworld International Film Festival. As a model, she has walked international runways and appeared in leading fashion publications and global brand campaigns.
A sought-after international speaker, Shreya addresses creative entrepreneurship, gender equity, mental health, and social impact at global forums. She is also a long-standing advocate for mental health, recognized for her leadership and sustained contributions to national awareness initiatives.
