Nermine Khouzam Rubin is the Founder, President, and CEO of Water 4 Mercy, a global humanitarian nonprofit dedicated to eradicating thirst, hunger, and despair in Africa through sustainable, technology-driven solutions. Inspired by a transformative visit to Tanzania, she founded Water 4 Mercy in 2018 to deliver permanent, community-led solutions that integrate solar-powered water systems, advanced agricultural technology, education, and local ownership.
Under her leadership, the organization has impacted 28 communities across six African nations, improving the lives of over 87,000 people. More than 12,800 farmers and 450 students have been trained through the Agricultural Innovation and Technology Centers (AITeC), equipping a new generation with skills for long-term food security and economic independence. Every project is remotely monitored in real time, ensuring sustainability, 100% operational success, and accountability, setting Water 4 Mercy apart from short-term aid initiatives.
Nermine brings decades of executive experience from healthcare, information systems, and technology sectors and holds an MBA and Master of Health Science from the University of Florida. Her leadership has earned international recognition, including appointment as UN Eminent Peace Ambassador (2025) and knighthood as a Dame in the Order of Parte Guelfa. Her work embodies a mission to transform cycles of poverty into self-sustaining cycles of hope, dignity, and prosperity for generations to come.
