Bio
Professor Sami El Khatib is a distinguished academic leader whose career bridges scientific excellence and human-centered education reform across the MENA region. He currently serves as Professor and Assistant Dean at the Lebanese International University (LIU), where he drives higher education transformation by linking research innovation, student empowerment, and policy advancement.
Professor El Khatib earned his PhD in Cell Biology and Oncology from the School of Medicine, Henri Poincaré University, France, following undergraduate studies at the Lebanese University. His early research in non-invasive cancer diagnostics and molecular oncology laid the foundation for a career dedicated to integrating advanced science with inclusive, impactful education.
Recognized by the Alper-DÖĞER Scientific Index and the Scholar GPS Index, he ranks among the top 5% of scientists in Asia and first in Cell and Molecular Biology at LIU. With over 100 publications, his research spans oncology, biotechnology, immunology, and food science.
In addition to his academic contributions, he is a Research Fellow at GUST (Kuwait), Council Member of the GULF Higher Education Standards Council, British Council-Certified Academic Counselor, and a Full Member of the Sigma Xi Research Honoring Society, influencing regional institutional quality, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation frameworks.
