Dr. Nachiketa Sinha is a visionary psychiatrist, health systems innovator, and compassionate advocate whose work has transformed mental health care in New Brunswick and across Canada. Since 2006, he has served as a consulting psychiatrist in the province, integrating clinical expertise with administrative leadership and culturally responsive care.

In May 2022, Dr. Sinha was appointed Regional Chief of Staff for Horizon Health Network, overseeing the quality of medical care across New Brunswick’s largest health authority. Previously, as Chief of Psychiatry at Moncton Hospital, he led multidisciplinary teams and advanced integrated mental health services.

A graduate of Karnatak University (MBBS, 2001), Dr. Sinha completed psychiatric training in the United Kingdom and holds an Executive MBA in Health Care from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, equipping him with strategic insight into health system transformation.

He has served as President of the Canadian Psychiatric Association and the New Brunswick Psychiatric Association, advancing patient-centered care, policy reform, and access initiatives. He is also Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University and the author of Empowered and Strong.

Driven by equity and his Indian heritage, Dr. Sinha emphasizes culturally safe care, particularly for Indigenous and marginalized populations. Beyond medicine, he is a devoted father and expressive artist, finding inspiration in writing, photography, and public discourse. His work blends clinical excellence, leadership, empathy, and creativity to inspire lasting impact.
